Why award nominations are good for business

Do you want to take your business to the next level? If so, award nominations are a great way to do it. Winning an award can give your business the recognition it deserves and help you attract new customers and generate new leads.

In this blog post, we will discuss the benefits of award nominations and explain why you should nominate yourself for business awards.

Today we are going to the Xero Awards. We have been invited along as we have made the finals! This is so exciting for us! We were shortlisted last year and unfortunately due to covid restrictions the awards were online. So it's a massive deal for us to get our glad rags on and enjoy the celebrations in person with fellow finalists.

For those of you who haven't heard of Xero, where have you been? Xero is the cloud accounting software which we use for all of our clients. This ensures a streamlined bookkeeping process across our business and yours. With cloud software your finances are at your fingertips with the touch of a button from anywhere you have an internet connection. Being nominated for a Xero award in our industry is highly regarded, there is so much competition but we are experts in our field after all! We have the Xero Gold Partner status to prove it too! A great achievement in itself.

That's the thing, you shouldn't feel scared of shouting about how good you are. You want your audience to know about your success and expertise and what better way to show that than to be nominated for an award?

If you don't tell people about your successes, how will they know?

Generate new business

With some awards you get a certificate just for being nominated which you can display on your website. For other awards you will only get a certificate if you are shortlisted, but even just being nominated or shortlisted for an award is something to be proud about and even this will make you stand out from the crowd.

Letting your target audience know that your business is achieving big things will increase your online visibility and get people talking about your success.

Just imagine the amazing results and the attention you will get if you go on to win! If someone is looking for your services and they are checking out your competitors (which they will), but you're the only award winner, who do you think they are more likely to go with?

Exactly!

Recognition of your expertise

Being an award nominee shows that you are an expert in your field. Awards aren't just given out for nothing! If you can win an award, it must mean that you know what you're doing, right? This can help to build trust with potential customers and make them more likely to use your services or buy your products.

Brand awareness

When you're shortlisted for an award it's not just you who will shout about it. The award sponsors will be displaying your name and brand all over their website and social media channels, opening up new audiences for you.

Client Retention

Your client base has already seen what you can do, they already know that you're great at what you do. But now, there's even more evidence to back it up! When they see how well you're doing and what your business is achieving they're going to want to stick with you for the long haul! The award nomination or win will just reinforce their reasons for investing in you in the first place.

Team Morale

Being shortlisted for an award will give your team members confidence that they're doing a great job. It will drive them to be more motivated and if they get invited to the celebrations, well that's just the icing on the cake, right?

Self-nomination for awards can seem like a lot of work and effort, with all of the various forms you have to fill in, but it's worth it to put your business in the running for recognition. Awards can bring in new customers, help you attract top talent and boost morale within your team. Plus, the nomination process itself can be a great way to reflect on your business accomplishments and enable you to set new targets for your business.

So if you are thinking of nominating your business for an award, go for it! It could be the best decision you ever make.
