What you need to know about Xero pricing plans

What you need to know about Xero pricing plans

As a Xero certified bookkeeper I’m an advocate for this brilliant bookkeeping software. I believe it’s the most intuitive bookkeeping software on the market and I can’t stress what an important part it plays in my bookkeeping process. Thanks to clever automations and integrations I can develop the perfect app stack to suit your growing business.

Prices start from as little as £2.50 per month so it makes sense to have the best software for your business. The best thing about it is, if you’re one of our clients, the price is included in your subscription so you don’t have to pay too many suppliers!

What’s the difference between the various Xero packages?

Xero Ledger, Non VAT Cash Book and VAT Cashbook

These subscriptions are only available through a bookkeeping or accountancy practice.

Xero ledger is currently £2.25 per month and will be increasing from March next year to £2.50 per month. It is perfect for those who don’t raise invoices, or have bills, but want to move off a spreadsheet.

The Non VAT Cashbook is going to be £7 per month increasing from the current rate of £5.50 per month. If you have a business bank account (or an account you use just for the business) then this is the next step up.

The VAT Cashbook is currently £9.50 per month and from March will be £11 per month. This is ideal for retail businesses where everything can be imported, but you don’t have sales or bills.

Starter

The starter plan is designed for smaller businesses or business start ups. For just £15 per month you can send up to 20 quotes and invoices and enter up to 5 bills.

You’ll be able to reconcile your transactions with your bank, submit VAT returns to HMRC, capture bills and receipts with the use of Hubdoc (which is free as part of your subscription), produce CIS calculations and reports and get a snapshot of your business finances. That’s a lot of great features for a small fee.

With the starter plan you can also get Xero Payroll and Expenses free for the first 2 months. You can track projects for free for 3 months and use the analytics plus feature for 4 months, all for free!

Standard

The standard plan gives you all the benefits of the starter plan with unlimited quotes, invoices and bills. You can also reconcile transactions in bulk which comes in handy if your transaction count is growing.

This subscription is £30 per month.

Premium

The premium option gives you everything that the standard does but it’s perfect if you need to use multi currencies. This option is £42 per month.

Ultimate

If you run payroll then this is the option for you. With all the benefits of the premium package you can also run payroll for up to 10 people. Every person above this is just £1 extra. Expense claims are for up to 5 people and each additional user is charged at £2.50 each. You can track projects for up to 5 people and can pay £5 for anyone extra. Analytics plus comes free as standard with this option.

Once we’ve had a discovery call with you and got a feel for your business we will design a bespoke package tailored to your requirements. This would then include the relevant Xero subscription to suit the needs of your business.

We’d love to have a chat with you about how our Xero Eco Accounting System can benefit your business.

As a bookkeeping practice, we understand how critical it is to get your pricing structure right. At LJM Bookkeeping, we’ve moved away from the traditional hourly rate model, and while this shift can feel daunting, it brings immense benefits for both our clients and us.
